Founded in Madison, Wisconsin in 2005, Phoenix empowers reliable, agile suppliers of safe, high-performing products in the aerospace and defense industries.
Our specialized neutron imaging facility is one of the only sites in the world to offer production-scale, high-quality neutron radiography. We offer a full suite of industrial radiography services without the need for a nuclear reactor, delivering the same high-resolution image quality with fewer — if any — outages and heavy security, safety, and logistics overhead.

Phoenix is a wholly owned subsidiary of Illuminated Holdings and a sister company of SHINE Technologies: a next-generation nuclear technology company focused on solving global problems by deploying a four-phased scalable path to practical fusion energy. Phoenix is the hub for and has commercialized SHINE's first phase, inspecting industrial components. Both organizations share a vision to develop fusion technology for the betterment of humanity, and for a safer, healthier, cleaner world.
